GAPS Protocol
GAPS Protocol
GAPS Protocol is an intensive gut healing program that can be used for most disorders of the body as all disease begins in the gut! Naturopaths are taught this as a foundation to their studies. The program detoxifies the person, removes the fog and allows the gut and immune system to function properly again. We heal the gut so that it stops promoting toxicity throughout the body.
The GAPS Protocol was developed by Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride MD – Neurologist and Nutritionist, in 2004, after working with hundreds of children and adults with neurological and psychiatric conditions. She designed this protocol after managing her sons Autism and with success treated hundreds of people with immune, neurological, psychiatric and digestive disorders.
The term GAPS, is abbreviated from Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS).
The human body is inhabited by huge numbers of micro-creatures. What’s essential to these microorganisms is – Balance! We have opportunistic flora and those that benefit us. Controlling and managing these organisms, healing gut tissues, immunity, decreasing toxic build up and restoring bodies is what the GAPS protocol is about. Ultimatley the GAPS protocol is about reconnecting to positive health – the best of you!
It is an effective approach for allergies, sensitivities, digestive dysfunction and many other physiological and psychological conditions.
