An inquiry mind enables us to find solutions

During your first initial consultation testing may be recommended to uncover underlying aspects to your health concerns. Karen interprets these and reports the findings to you in subsequent appointments.  Here she will discuss the outcomes and the most appropriate way to handle this and in this way consultations are very much an individualised process with the aim to improve your overall health and to prevent further disease. She may recommend specific functional tests or a visit to your doctor to have blood tests carried out.

Functional testing and/or Genetic profiling may further enhance your treatment through uncovering aspects that are underlying or hidden. Functional testing available is many and varied. Here is a list of some that are available:

Thyroid Tests

Constantly fatigued? Lacking energy and motivation? Family history of Thyroid concerns? Low metabolic rate with low body temperature? Your Thyroid may not be functioning properly. Nutritional deficiencies, stress and diet can be some of the factors that affect thyroid health.
Unfortunately many investigations are limited when it comes to testing by your GP. TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) may be all that is done. A full investigation involves TSH, free T3, free T3, reverse T3, and thyroid autoantibodies. A normal TSH can exist yet you can have thyroid autoantibodies (your immune system is attacking you thyroid gland and Hashimoto’s Disease is present). Treatment plans for this condition and hypothyroidism are different so it is important to know what is going on. Thyroid health is closely linked to adrenal health. Feel you need to be tested? Why not book in to see Karen Green – Naturopath.

Adrenal Fatigue

Dried urine testing is carried out to determine your levels. Adrenal health and fatigue is always part of the picture with Thyroid health. They come hand in hand. In fact, most stress has a big part to play in our disease states today. What to find out if this is part of the picture for you. It is easy to do so.
